Excellence Through Endeavour

School Library

Putney School has an expansive, computerised library providing the school community with a collection of resources that are current and comprehensive, catering for students’ and staff’s recreational and curriculum needs. The library has four enquiry terminals and a bank of 20 networked computers, allowing classes to develop computer skills.

The library is open Monday to Friday during school hours. The children also have access for borrowing before school (8.45 am to 9.15 am), except Wednesdays, and during the second half of lunch (1.30 pm to 2.00 pm), except Fridays, for borrowing and computers. All classes have a scheduled library time for browsing, borrowing, literature appreciation, research and information skills. In addition, individual children, small groups or classes are able to use the library at any time, timetable and available space/resources permitting.

We have established a Parents Reference Section in our library. Resources are available on topics including Literacy and Numeracy , Parenting Skills, Bullying etc.
