LIFE MEMBERSHIP AWARDED BY THE P&C ASSOCIATION
RATIONALE
Putney Public School greatly values the support and active involvement of parents and members of the community in the day to day life of the school. It is believed that students’ learning is enhanced when there is a strong link between school and home and when parents take an active part in the enrichment of the learning environment.
The P&C would like to recognise the contributions of identified parents and community members offering Life Membership of the School Community.
ORGANISATION / PROCEDURE
Members of the community are invited to formally nominate other parents or community members for Life Membership. This is to be done in writing and submitted to the P&C for consideration at the Annual General Meeting or at a Special Meeting.
The nomination must be in writing and the contributions of the nominee clearly outlined. Theis should include

Full name and contact details – address and phone number where possible

Length of service to the school

Type/s of contributions made to the school

Benefits gained by the school and the students as a result of the nominees contributions

Signature of the nominator
Each year a committee will be formed by the P&C to oversee this process. The committee will include the Principal of the school, a representative of the P&C Executive and a financial member of the P&C.

Prepare an annual notice for the school newsletter calling for nominations

Meet to review nominations

Contact successful nominees to invite them to a presentation of a Life Membership badge and certificate

Maintain a record of Life Members as part of P&C documentation.
ONGOING SUPPORT TO SCHOOL
It is envisaged that Life Members may be called upon to assist in presentations at various forums and where applicable the skills of the life member could be called upon to assist the current school community projects.
